Stop waiting for God to shout. He has been whispering the whole time.
Elijah stood on that mountain expecting fire. Expecting earthquakes. Expecting something loud and dramatic. But God bypassed every spectacle and showed up in a gentle whisper (1 Kings 19:12).
We do the same thing. We beg for signs, wait for open doors to slam or swing wide, and scroll past the still moments where God is already speaking. His voice doesn't compete with noise. It waits for you to get quiet enough to hear it.
Maybe the answer you have been chasing is not missing. Maybe it is just soft. Maybe God has been speaking in the pause between your prayers, in the peace that does not make sense, in the thought that keeps returning when everything else fades.
Today, turn the volume down on everything else.
What would change if you stopped looking for thunder and started listening for a whisper?
