Jesus didn't promise a trouble-free life. He promised something better — a trouble-proof soul.

Jesus never promised you a life without storms. He promised you something far greater — His peace in the middle of them. John 16:33 is one of the most honest and hopeful verses in all of Scripture. Jesus looks at His disciples and says plainly: trouble is coming. But then He says something extraordinary — "Take heart! I have overcome the world." Not "I will overcome." He already has.
