Bold Truth

Weaponized Words

"The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

— Proverbs 18:21

Cancel culture did not invent the power of words. The Bible warned us first. Proverbs 18:21 tells us plainly: "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." We live in a world that weaponizes words daily. One tweet can end a career. One rumor can destroy a reputation. But long before social media, God told us our speech carries the weight of life and death. This is not just a cultural problem. It is a spiritual one. Believers cannot condemn cancel culture while casually gossiping over dinner. We cannot demand grace for ourselves while refusing it in our conversations about others. The same mouth that worships on Sunday should not wound on Monday. Your words are not neutral. They either build or they break. They either plant seeds of life or scatter seeds of destruction. So today, before you speak, text, or post, ask yourself this: are your words giving life, or are you just joining the mob? 🤔
